The Longitude Fellowship

Longitude fellowship aims to empower college students and recent graduates with experiences in leading informational interviews, narrating podcast episodes, and preparing library exhibitions.

How To Participate
Whether you are an undergraduate or a graduate student, or a recent graduate who is interested in participating, you are invited to fill out this form to express your interest and we will reach out to you.

How It Works
Longitude fellows are curiosity-driven volunteers. No former interviewing or podcasting experience is required, but an interest in learning from the experiences of others and accountability for commitments are essential. The time commitment per project ranges from 2 to 10 hours over a four week period. Participants are provided easy-to-follow guidelines, information on the projects, and connections to industry contacts, along with templates for recording episode introductions and reflections.

Benefits of Participation
The fellows gain valuable practice in managing their projects, reviewing content, editing scripts, speaking about experiences in digital formats, leading semi-scripted conversations online, and making connections with professionals from multitude of fields. The program posts the podcast links on LinkedIn, showcasing the work of the fellows, which expands the visibility of their LinkedIn profiles in professional spheres.

Project Themes
Each Fall, Spring and Summer, we explore different themes by leading conversations with professionals from science, engineering, and other fields. Our overall goal through all our projects is to learn about how ideas come to fruition through creativity and collaboration.
