This site visit provided us a firsthand look at how modern broadcast journalism operates in real time.

LongitudeSite field trip to the Brockman Hall for Opera Costume Shop.
This site visit led our group to interact with Ms. Jessie Mullins, director of opera operations, and Ms. Barbara Dolney, wardrobe supervisor, and gave us a chance to observe the magic of costume and stage preparations for their upcoming production.

LongitudeSite field trip to the Amati Violin Shop
This site visit led our group to the studio of Peter Shaw, an expert violin/cello maker, restorer, and appraiser of fine string instruments, at the Amati Violin Shop in Houston.

LongitudeSite field trip to the Museum of Fine Arts Houston Conservation Studios.
The group included students from Rice University, University of St Thomas, and Houston Community College majoring in various fields, including art history, biology, religion, and business, as well as a professor of finance from St Thomas and Ipek Martinez from LongitudeSite. Mr. Per Knutas, Chairman of Sarah Campbell Blaffer Foundation Center for Conservation, led the group through the studios while sharing an overview of the conservation activities, their purpose, and the types of objects they handle.
